+ Prompt Injection vs. Your Database: Break It, Then Lock It - Damian Widera
Giving an LLM agent access to a SQL database means giving that access to anyone who can type into the chat. Instructions like "never reveal other customers' data" in a prompt are not a security boundary.
In this session I attack a text-to-SQL agent running against SQL Server, live. First I exploit it: cross-tenant data leaks, access to restricted columns, indirect injection through a poisoned Notes field, destructive statements, and an unbounded query that burns resources. Then I fix each hole where it belongs, in the database: least-privilege roles on views, Row-Level Security driven by SESSION_CONTEXT, column-level permissions, query limits and audit logging. The same attacks are then replayed against the hardened setup.
