Art Tour — Kraków, 7 October

Organized by the Zachęta Society for the Unlimited Conference

Guide: Katarzyna Wąs
Start: 2:00 PM · Estimated finish: approximately 5:00 PM

Discover Kraków's vibrant contemporary art scene on a curated walking tour through some of the city's most compelling galleries and independent art spaces. Led by Katarzyna Wąs, the tour offers an insider's perspective on current exhibitions, emerging artists and the creative energy that keeps Kraków at the heart of Poland's artistic life.

Piana Gallery — ul. Długa 15

Joan Pallé Argilés, "After Aerei"

An exhibition by Catalan artist Joan Pallé Argilés presenting his "After Aerei" series. His starting point was a body of work by the Italian artist Alighiero Boetti depicting the silhouettes of aircraft. In Argilés's reinterpretation, the planes are replaced by drones, and the manual labour of assistants gives way to the precision of machines and new technologies. The exhibition is curated by Michalina Sablik.

Mikrob. Gallery — ul. Floriańska 15

Sicoer

Mikrob. is the smallest gallery in Poland, housed in a tiny shop window on Floriańska Street — a location of exceptional importance in Polish history. It presents exhibitions on a micro scale, yet everything works just as it would in a full-sized gallery: there is a floor, a ceiling, walls, lighting, artworks, artists and curators — only in miniature. This time, Mikrob. presents a work by artist and graffiti writer Sicoer.

Studio visit: Grzegorz Siembida

Grzegorz Siembida is one of the most interesting voices in contemporary abstract art in Poland. He creates sculptures, installations and paintings deeply rooted in the avant-garde heritage of modern art, while also drawing on less obvious sources: craft, applied art and street art.

UFO Gallery — ul. Podwale 6

"Unknown 2026"

UFO Art Gallery is one of the most dynamic commercial galleries in Kraków, representing artists of the younger and mid-career generations. "Unknown 2026" is a group exhibition presenting a diverse range of artistic approaches and practices, featuring works by Tara Abdullah, Tomek Baran, Piotr Jaros, Samuel Kłoda, Radim Koros, Bogumił Książek, Maciej Pęcak, Julius Reichel and Natalia Załuska.

Ósma Rano Café — ul. Podwale 4

Coffee break

A coffee break in the company of the artist Nawer, co-author of both the interior and the works displayed inside one of Kraków's most atmospheric cafés.

Bunkier Sztuki — pl. Szczepański 3a

Kinga Nowak, "Czar mi tropikuw"
Mirella von Chrupek, "Romance au chocolat"
"Polish Design. Biography of an Object / Biography of a Designer"

Bunkier Sztuki is one of Kraków's most important public institutions of contemporary art. It primarily presents exhibitions by artists connected to the city — though they are difficult to confine to the category of "Kraków artists." Their international careers show that Kraków has long remained an important place for the development of artistic talent. Kinga Nowak is one of the most compelling female voices in contemporary expressive painting, and her deeply personal works can also be read as the voice of a generation. Mirella von Chrupek, known for her micro-installations, comments on the reality around us in a witty and intelligent way. The third exhibition is devoted to Polish design.

Optional — Wyspiański Pavilion — pl. Wszystkich Świętych 1-2

Celine Levitan, "The Language of Pearls"

An exhibition of works by Celine Levitan, in which sewing becomes a form of painterly thinking. The artist creates images from fabrics, embroidery and patchwork appliqué, using sequins, artificial pearls and plastic stones. Her intuitively constructed compositions are strongly autobiographical, becoming a record of emotions, experiences and inner transformations. A key theme of the exhibition is female identity and the tension between the personal and society's ideas of beauty and femininity.
