IT Talk: Practical AI - From Constrained Decoding to Code Tools
Join us on Wednesday, May 13, at 18:00 at the DataArt office in WeWork, Mennica Legacy Tower (ul. Prosta 20) for an evening dedicated to practical applications of AI in software development. This edition, titled Practical AI - From Constrained Decoding to Code Tools, takes a focused look at how AI is really used in modern development workflows.
The event will feature DataArt specialists sharing their hands‑on experience in two focused talks:
✨ Exploring Claude Code and Snowflake Cortex Code, Mykyta Tkachenko, Solution Data Architect, DataArt
Mykyta Tkachenko will walk you through how he uses Claude Code in daily development and dive into the Snowflake‑specific experience of Cortex Code.
During this session, he will:
- Demonstrate how he personally works with Claude Code in real development workflows
- Explore the Snowflake‑specific side of Cortex Code, including how it generates code, handles transformations, and interacts with Snowflake data and logic
- Share his own aha and wow moments
- Talk openly about what surprised him, what works particularly well, and where these tools truly shine in practice
What we'll look at:
- Claude Code as a developer assistant that helps navigate repositories, refactor code, analyze architecture, write tests, and work with large codebases using natural language
- Snowflake Cortex Code as part of the Snowflake ecosystem - offering AI‑powered code generation and refinement tightly connected to Snowflake's data structures, SQL patterns, and operational workflows
✨ Beyond Prompting - Constrained Decoding in Practice, Szymon Ciemała, Senior AI Engineer, DataArt
Most practitioners know how to prompt a large language model - but few understand what happens one layer below, where the model is mathematically constrained to produce valid, structured output.
This talk explores:
- How constrained decoding works under the hood,
- Where it is already used in production systems,
- Why it matters for reliability, correctness, and safety,
- A closing security angle: how the same mechanism can be turned against the model itself.
You'll gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms that enable trustworthy AI systems and how those mechanisms can become both a strength and a risk.
Detailed agenda available here.
The event is free of charge and open to everyone.

IT Talk is a community that brings together IT enthusiasts.
During our meetings, we don't focus on one specific technology or topic — instead, we create a space that encourages the exchange of knowledge and experience. Every participant can become a speaker, and attendance at our events is free of charge.
IT Talk is a great opportunity for professionals, aspiring developers, and students to share insights, gain knowledge, exchange technical solutions, and present their ideas during our meetups.
