The 12th International Maritime Congress will be held in Szczecin on May 13-14, 2026. It is one of the most important strategic debates on the maritime economy, security, shipping, and ports in Europe. The Congress will bring together representatives of governments, international organizations, shipowners, ports, the maritime industry, academia, and experts from Poland and abroad.

The first day of the Congress (May 13) will be a plenary session and will take place at the Polish Theatre in Szczecin. The grand opening ceremony will kick off a debate on the key challenges facing the maritime economy today in the context of dynamic geopolitical changes, security, and the transformation of European shipping.

During the first Plenary Debate, participants will address the security of the Baltic Sea, focusing on ports as critical infrastructure, energy security, and NATO's role in responding to new threats. Representatives from the military, maritime administration, and government institutions will participate.

The second Plenary Debate will address sustainability in European shipping, covering IMO and EU regulations, seafarers' social protection, and the strategic role of the national flag. The discussion will focus on, among other things, the Maritime Licensing Convention (MLC), the competitiveness of European shipping registers, and the relationship between global regulations and the ambitions of the European Union. Leading representatives of international shipowner organizations and maritime employers have confirmed their participation.

The third plenary debate on the first day will address supply chains in a turbulent environment, their resilience, the role of ports, the integration of transport modes, and the importance of digitalization and autonomy for logistics security in the 2030+ perspective.
The first day will conclude with an artistic evening with a banquet, providing a space for informal conversations and networking.

The second day of the Congress (May 14th), held at the Radisson Hotel, will feature expert panels and will be divided into four parallel thematic blocks: 

• Shipping and Ports,
• Security, 
• Maritime Industry, 
• Intermodal Support of Seaports.

The program will feature panels on:

• global shipping under geopolitical pressure,
• new seaport strategies,
• fiscal competitiveness and border control systems in the EU,
• the role of ports and port cities as production locations.

The 12th International Maritime Congress in Szczecin will be a platform for substantive discussion about the future of the European and Polish maritime economy - its security, competitiveness, and resilience in a world of growing uncertainty.

May 13, 2026 - The first day of the 12th International Maritime Congress will take place at the Polish Theatre in Szczecin.
NOTE: Entrance to the event is only from Jana z Kolna Street! All participants are requested to arrive at the event well in advance.

May 14, 2026 - The second day of the 12th International Maritime Congress will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Szczecin (Plac Rodła 10, 70-419 Szczecin).
