Q-Hack: Quantum Hackathon
Innovative Solutions for a Quantum Future
Why quantum technologies matter
Quantum technologies represent a revolutionary leap in science and engineering, poised to transform various facets of our lives. By leveraging the principles of quantum mechanics, these technologies promise unprecedented advancements in computing power, secure communications, and problem-solving capabilities that are currently beyond the reach of classical systems.
- Quantum computing power: Quantum computers can process complex calculations at speeds unattainable by traditional computers. For instance, Google's quantum computer achieved quantum supremacy by solving a problem in 200 seconds that would take the world's fastest supercomputer 10,000 years .
- Secure communications: Quantum cryptography offers virtually unbreakable encryption, ensuring the utmost security for sensitive information. This has significant implications for industries ranging from finance to national defense, where secure data transmission is crucial.
The development and application of quantum technologies are essential for staying ahead in the global innovation race. By fostering research and collaboration in this field, we can unlock new potentials that will drive future economic growth and societal advancements.
Join us for an exhilarating 24-hour Quantum Hackathon!
As part of the prestigious Q Camp, we invite innovators, experts, and enthusiasts from around the world to participate in a unique, open-format, international hackathon. This dynamic event offers two distinct tracks to cater diverse interests and expertise levels:
- Business track:
- Challenge: Solve real-world problems presented by our partners. For instance, develop a solution utilizing quantum technologies for defense and secure communication.
- Target: Professionals and experts with a background in quantum technologies.
- Goal: Showcase the commercial potential and development of quantum technologies by tackling specific, high-impact challenges.
- Open track:
- Challenge: Find any innovative application for quantum technologies.
- Target: Open to everyone, from tech-savvy individuals to those simply curious about the quantum world.
- Goal: Promote quantum technologies and generate excitement by welcoming diverse participants to explore limitless possibilities.
Objectives of the hackathon:
- Minimum Viable Concept (MVP): At the very least, teams should develop a conceptual solution.
- Prototype development: Ideally, teams should create a working prototype.
- Inclusivity: Teams already working on solutions (young startups) are also welcome to participate.
Event highlights:
- Expert talks: Gain insights from industry leaders and quantum technology experts.
- Mentorship: Receive guidance and support from experienced mentors throughout the event.
- Workshops: Participate in small, focused workshops to enhance your skills.
- Presentations & Awards: Conclude with team presentations evaluated by a jury
