We will guide an iintroductory workshop that will allow you to build your first voice driven application.
Saturday 14th of May: 9am till evening
You will work alone or as part of a team to make the app better and better. At the end of the day we will choose the best apps and reword the winners.
Some food and soft drinks will be provided through the day.
Q: Do I have to know any particular programming language/technology?
Q: What can such an app do?
A: Your app will accept voice requests and respond in a lifelike speech. In other words, you will be able to talk to your app and it will talk back. Don't worry if you don't know anything about speech-processing, you will have a chance to see how simple this is.
The possible usages of this technology are limitless, but some valid examples include:
A cookbook. You specify what is in your fridge and the app answers what you can do based on that.
You are standing in a dark, damp room. You see three exits: South, East, West. Which one you choose? Adventure awaits!
Please note that your app can connect to external services, display its status on a page, control physical devices using RasberyPI and do many other cool things. You have to bring this additional equipment (like RasberyPI) if your app requires it.
