Scalar - one of the biggest Scala conferences in Europe has gathered FP enthusiasts from all around the world and hosted outstanding speakers (Heather Miller, Paweł Szulc, Valentin Kasas, Vladimir Pavkin and many others) since 2014.

We've been popularising Scala and encouraging developers, open-source contributors and influencers to meet, exchange ideas, make connections and shape the FP community together.

2022 brings new format, topic and location. Meet TypeVille.

The event opens up to other languages including Java, Haskell, Rust, Kotlin, TypeScript with type safety as the main theme.

The formula is a solid blend of sharing hands-on engineering experience and networking. A platform to create valuable event experiences, exchange ideas and learn Scala and other type safe modern programming languages.

As for now we plan the event to host around 200 engineers, JVM and type-safety enthusiasts, on-site. 

Apart from tech talks we're planning to host various networking activities (programming workshops, hiking trips, open dinners and parties) for everyone to get together and celebrate.

The event will take place on 20-22 April 2022 in a lovely place in the Polish mountains.
