The first edition od DevOps Space 2019 is coming!

DevOps Space Conference is the very first one of its kind organized by Boeing Software Development Center in Gdańsk. Our goal is to first of all broaden our knowledge and seek new solutions but also share ideas and experience. The conference will feature a variety of technical sessions and presentations that will foster learning and innovation. The focus areas include Cloud Native, Security, Architecture, CI/CD, and more. More details will be posted daily here: https://www.facebook.com/DevOpsSpaceConference/

If you are an enthusiast willing to join us, you are more than welcomed - 1 day packed with solid content are ahead of you!

Agenda: https://devops-space.pl/

Speakers:

✔ Maciej Knichał "Is this dependency safe? How to track java depenencies with OWASP Dependency Track and CycloneDX?"

When creating any application, different components are used which are globally available. We aim at using the newest and coolest technology. What about checking the security of those items? In the presentation, Maciej will try to explain how to control certain dependencies and verify that the applications are secured.

Michał Koszałka "Kafka and Kafka Streams - lessons learned"

In first part we will be introduced to Kafka Messaging system, its architecture , strengths and weaknesses. During second part we will hear about journey from setting up Kafka broker (either locally or as a cluster e.g. on Kubernetes) through creating Producer/Consumer app, to implementing a Stream based application with Kafka Streams.

Oleksii Tsyganov " How dangerous is an open resolver DNS?"

The introduction to the presentation can be Oleksii's article: http://bit.ly/2lYJmWa. He will continue the topic about Polish security so that during his speech you will find the answers for the following questions:

How quickly an DNS server will be detected?
When it will be used for illegal purposes?
How to determine the load on the server (the number of requests per second)?
How to determine which organizations are targeted?
Whether compromised (blacklisted) domains and / or IP addresses will be requested?...and more coming up!

Paweł Węglewski "Git - the stuff You wish You had known"

Pawel spent the first half of his career as a DevOps before finding his true calling - iOS development. Currently employed as a Development Lead at Jeppesen where he keeps making the same mistake ot trying to control the repositories and CI systems and failing miserably.

Łukasz Leszczuk "Federated identity on Kubernetes hosted applications"

In his presentation, Łukasz intends to go through the basics of oauth2 protocol and show how it can be used to protect Kubernetes hosted applications.

Łukasz is a system integrator in Jeppesen, working mostly on Kubernetes ecosystems on Azure. He's interested in architecting and developing self-healing infrastructure at scale. In the past, working on AWS public cloud and Openstack private cloud.

Paweł Piwosz "The road to the Continuous Monitoring"

Lead Systems Engineer at Epam Systems. Over 20 years in IT industry, from Startups to huge organizations. Working with the motto: "DevOps in Agile way". Currently focused on clouds, CI/CD, containerization and serverless. And of course monitoring.

✔ Adrienne Tacke "Azure Automation: The Good Parts"

Deploy several times a day. Trigger automatic builds upon the push of a commit. Release to multiple environments with varying conditions. Sound complicated? Luckily, it's not! We'll discuss which steps are vital to automate in your development workflow and how doing so can erase "Release Days" for good!

Adrienne Braganza Tacke is a Filipina software engineer, international speaker, and published author of the book Coding for Kids: Python. She is also a LinkedIn Learning instructor who specializes in Azure and Cloud Development courses. She takes great delight in solving complex problems and building awesome things, particularly with C# and JavaScript. Most of all, she relishes the opportunity to teach anyone about code.

Denis Rosa "Running Databases on Kubernetes"

With the rise of Kubernetes StatefullSets and CRDs, we started thinking about running databases on it. But why should I do that in the first place? How hard is it? Which are the challenges? Is it production already? All those questions will be answered during a live demo where we will deploy a database, deploy an operator, fail nodes, scale up and down with nearly no manual intervention.

Denis is a speaker and Developer Advocate at Couchbase, he started programming even before the college and never stopped coding since then. He is Java & NoSQL specialist, open-source contributor, and an enthusiast of Microservices & DevOps.

Marcin Karkocha "Modern Cloud Native CI/CD in service of security and reliability"

Cloud Native enthusiast and Architect in Mindbox Company. Technical mentor and speaker at various type of events. Business oriented mind, thinking about himself as a project that needs to be continuously developed. Open Source contributor - not that involved as he would like to be.

Marek Henryk Okroj "Dev, ops and everything in between - why does it pay off to have someone watching over the whole development process"

You think your process is tuned to perfection? That everything what happens with the code from the moment it ends up in the repository up to the moment when it's running on your production servers is state of the art and optimised and smooth? Oh honey, you have no idea how wrong you may be. The developers do not care about production and the sysadmins don't give a f**k about what happens on the development environments and the testers are trying their best but usually nobody listens to them at all. I'll demonstrate how wrong and bad can a seemingly smooth process be and how much can be improved upon something that you might think is fine.

Be there with us to share this big DevOps adventure!
